There is something particularly interesting about Victoria Beckham. Not the Spice Girls, not the footballer husband, not the sunglasses and immaculate white shirts, although all of it matters. What makes her interesting is how deliberately she has built a life around the woman she wanted to become.

Victoria has always understood the value of a point of view.


Posh was the first version of it. A nickname, a bob, a little black dress, a Union Jack and a very particular way of looking bored in photographs. At the time, it was easy to dismiss her as the Spice Girl who took herself too seriously. She seemed almost determined to become something beyond the group before the group had even finished becoming itself.


Years later, that instinct makes more sense.
