7 Ways to Strengthen Your Spellwork When You’re Feeling Blocked

Let’s be real—sometimes magick just doesn’t hit the same. You’re casting, you’re cleansing, you're doing everything, and yet... things feel stuck. Stagnant. Off.

Whether you’re newer to the craft or have been walking the witch's path for years, energetic blocks can pop up for anyone. Here are seven powerful and practical ways to get your magick flowing again:

Revisit Your Intention

Get crystal clear. Is your intention too vague? Is it rooted in fear or lack? Write it down again, refine it, and speak it aloud. Magick responds to clarity.

Cleanse (Again)

You’d be surprised how often energy builds up and causes interference. Cleanse your space, your tools, your body. Use smoke, sound, a salt bath—whatever calls you. Do it with intention.

Layer Your Tools Wisely

Sometimes less is more, and sometimes a layered approach hits harder. Think: candle + jar + sigil + chant. Each one should support the same goal—not confuse the energy.

Work with the Right Timing

Planetary and moon alignments matter. If your spell felt “off,” check what was happening astrologically. Sometimes you just need to wait for a better moment—or recast on a more powerful day.

Ground and Recharge

Your energy is the spell’s power source. If you’re burnt out, angry, or anxious—it shows. Ground yourself. Sleep. Eat. Meditate. Pour back into yourself so your magick has something strong to pull from.

Ask Your Spirits

If you work with spirits, guides, ancestors—ask them. Leave an offering. Pull a card. See if they’ve got something to say. Sometimes they’ll show you what’s misaligned or what’s missing.

Patience Is Still a Spell

You might not see the results yet, but that doesn’t mean it’s not working. Some spells take time to thread through reality. Stay connected, stay trusting.
