Beltane isn’t just a festival. It’s a portal.
The veil thins again — not for the dead, but for the living. The earth is humming with lust, life, and the wild call to create. This is not a time to play small. Your ancestors lit fires for a reason — and that reason is you.
So What Is Beltane?
Celebrated on May 1st (or when the earth just feels ready), Beltane marks the halfway point between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. It’s the ancient festival of fertility, sensuality, creation, union, fire, and manifestation.
It’s witchcraft in bloom. Sacred, untamed, and pulsing with life-force.
Themes of the Season
- Fertility (of body, spirit, land, and creativity)
- Passion, intimacy, and sacred sexuality
- Manifestation and fire magick
- Rebirth and divine union
- Courage, vitality, and reclaiming joy
Whether you’re lighting candles alone in your room or dancing under the moon with others — this is the season to say yes to being alive.
Ways to Honour Beltane:
Fire Rituals
Beltane is a fire festival — burn something. Write a fear or limitation that’s been weighing you down and release it into flame. Speak your intentions into the smoke. Feel your courage rise.
Sex Magick + Sensual Spellwork
Solo or partnered, now is the time to honour pleasure as power. Use oils, herbs, and red/pink candles to direct energy into what you desire most — love, healing, money, influence.
Anoint + Activate
Create a Beltane oil blend with rose, patchouli, ylang-ylang, and cinnamon. Anoint your pulse points, altar, or candles for heightened attraction and confidence.
Make a Flower Offering
To the land, your guides, your body. Gather wild blooms, whisper your gratitude, and leave them as an offering — in a forest, by a tree, or at your mirror.
Connect with Divine Masculine/Feminine Energy
This season is all about sacred union. Journal on how those energies live in you. Where do they need rebalancing? How can you welcome the inner lover back home?
Beltane Altar Ideas:
- Red, pink, and gold candles
- Fresh flowers (especially hawthorn, daisy, rose)
- Honey and strawberries (offerings for love, sweetness, fertility)
- Antlers, sun symbols, bones (for divine masculine/animal power)
- Symbols of union (two candles bound, intertwined ribbons, rings)
Spells to Work on Beltane: Beltane Attraction Spell
You’ll need
- Red candle
- A drop of your perfume/oil
- A mirror
- A small dish of rose petals or herbs of love (damiana, cinnamon, hibiscus)
Carve your name and “I call love, pleasure, and devotion” into the candle. Anoint it with oil and light it while looking at yourself in the mirror. Say:
“I am the flame, the call, the beauty risen.
I pull in what matches my fire.
Let them find me. Let them burn for me.”
Beltane Power + Manifestation Jar
Layer herbs, glitter, flower petals, a coin, and a written goal into a small jar. Seal it with wax from a gold or green candle. Charge it under sun or flame. Keep it on your altar until the next fire festival (Litha).
Banishing Blocks Ritual
Jump a small flame or candle three times while chanting what you're letting go. Beltane is not a time to carry dead weight.
You are made of earth and flame. Beltane wants you bold, bare, and bursting with life. Make your magick beautiful. Make it wild. Make it yours.
