“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV
Sometimes we hesitate to ask God for blessing, as if wanting more is somehow ungrateful or selfish. But Scripture reminds us that God is a good Father. He delights in giving good gifts to His children. Asking for blessing isn’t a lack of faith; it’s an act of trust.
God’s blessings aren’t limited. He is not running out of grace, provision, or favor. When we ask Him to bless us, we are acknowledging our dependence on Him and our belief that He is able and willing to provide. The Bible is full of people who boldly asked God for increase, protection, wisdom, and favor. God honored those prayers.
Abundance doesn’t always mean material wealth. Often, God blesses us with peace in hard seasons, strength when we feel weak, clarity when we feel lost, and joy that doesn’t make sense. These are deep, lasting blessings.
So don’t shrink your prayers out of fear or guilt. Ask boldly. Ask humbly. Ask with gratitude. A God who gave His Son for us will never be offended when His children come asking for more of what only He can give.
