I moved to Spring, Texas from Atlanta, Georgia in September of last year in obedience to God. My promised land is finally here, yay! Or so I thought *insert frown face*! Nothing right or so it seems has happened for me since I moved. Matter of fact, I've experienced loss and emotional turmoil.
I've doubted if I truly heard from God so many times I can't count. If you know me personally then you'd know I am that "one" that has mountain moving faith even with all odds stacked against me and I BELIEVE & TRUST the voice of God in my life. So what makes this time different? I've been in a similar place before and seen the hand of God move miraculously. I don't know, this time just seems different, harder, stranger. Does that mean that God didn't speak? Absolutely not!
Often times we think that obeying the voice of God means that everything is going to go smooth sailing from beginning to end. Honestly, that is the furthest thing from the truth. When God told Abraham to pack up his family and go to a land and that He'll tell him he's arrived when he gets there was the start of a wild and crazy journey for Abraham.
Abraham encountered all sorts of challenges along the way. He almost had his wife taken away from him twice, he was in friction with his nephew Lot (who he wasn't supposed to take anyway), to name a few. I'm pretty sure Abraham didn't foresee his journey going the way it did. But that doesn't the fact that God spoke and told him to go.
Do we doubt God when things begin to play out in a way that we didn't anticipate, or do we continue to trust the God whose been there and has proven Himself to be faithful time and time again? It would be nice if everything could just fall in line the way it's supposed to, but if it always did so easily, we wouldn't need faith. Our spiritual muscles wouldn't be stretched. We wouldn't pray, we wouldn't believe God for the impossible. We'd stay stuck and stagnant and truthfully we wouldn't need God for much.
God isn't the God of the easy, He's the God of the IMPOSSIBLE! He's a miracle working God. He gets to truly flex in our lives when our backs are up against the wall and we don't see a way out. He wants to bring you out in such a way that everybody says, THAT WAS NOBODY BUT GOD!!!
So let's keep pressing my brother and sister and trust and believe and the God who said it shall bring it to pass because it's impossible for Him to lie according to Numbers 23:19.
