What do handmade piñatas and viral content have in common?
At first glance, not much — but for me, they both represent the power of ideas that spark joy and get shared.
I started with my hands — literally — making piñatas, not because I knew how to, but because a co-worker couldn’t find one that fit her daughter's theme. She was having a mermaid-theme birthday party. Not a “Little Mermaid” party - but a mermaid-theme party with her favorite colors; teal, green, blue and white. I offered to try and figure it out, and boy did I figure it out!
I became the Piñatas Maker lol. Every party theme they came up with, I made a piñata. A product they could NOT find at a store because it was made specifically for them.
Some time later, I went viral.
But not with the piñatas! I built a faceless Instagram page that grew to over 150,000 followers in less than 3 months. No expensive tools. No showing my face. Just binge worthy content and strategy.

But here’s the truth: I was still stuck for a while — juggling a job, self-doubt, and too many ideas.
I stopped posting and my viral page lost over 15,000 followers. I wasn't monetizing from it and my heart sunk with each unfollow count. I could not find a way out of my soul-sucking job or the energy to work on my content on my free time.
But I didn't give up!
What finally gave me the push to take my digital business seriously was realizing that I needed help. After doing research, looking for a way to make things work, I found community! I joined Your First 5k Club with Arlan Hamilton.
The community, mindset shifts, and accountability inside that space helped me stop stalling and start building momentum again.
