One Bite After a Month β A Beautiful Mirror Carp π£
Sometimes carp fishing is all about patience. This session proved that once again.
I had been fishing spot 10 regularly for about a month, hoping for that one special bite. Many sessions passed without much happening, but I kept believing that sooner or later a carp would show up on the spot.
And then it finally happened.
The Setup
For this session I was fishing with a method feeder setup, keeping things simple but effective. My bait choice consisted of:
- Pellets for feeding
- A wafter as hookbait
This combination often works well because the pellets create attraction around the feeder, while the wafter stands out just enough to tempt a curious carp.
The Long-Awaited Bite
After weeks of waiting, the moment finally came. One strong take signaled that a carp had found the bait.
What followed was a long and exciting fight. I was fishing with a size 10 hook and a 2200 mm leader, which made the fight even more intense because you have to play the fish carefully.
The carp fought hard and kept me busy for quite a while.
After 21 minutes of fighting, I was finally able to guide the fish into the net.
The Reward
In the net was a beautiful mirror carp, and after waiting so long for that one bite, the feeling was incredible.
Sometimes you wait weeks for a single chance, but when it finally happens, it makes every quiet session worth it.
