......most of the time when we were travelling round the region or elsewhere, we most often than not, been fortunate to meet many people - the locals - to help us out during our trips there.
In many instances these are individuals that run their own means in providing some kind of services to earn a living for the family; they aren't from the bigger corporations, nor the well-established tour agencies, that we come into contact with.
Even if they are from those agencies, they're the mere employees for them.
These self-employed individuals could be the tuk-tuk or taxi driver, a street food vendor, an unofficial guide but who are well-versed of the places they're hanging out at, they could be souvenirs peddlers, hiking guides, small-family run tour operators, and so on......
......in each, they came with a struggle to find means to earn some money, to put food on the table to feed or sustain the family.
If you could just slow down time there wherever you could be in these rural areas and not be too consumed by your own mere focus and bargains, then beyond your own personal interests you could then indeed see a different perspective of life is, there.

Sometimes as if to verify things clearer, we would testingly bargain with these individual service providers to a point it purportedly gave us that upper hand advantage for the services or of the prices they offer; to sort of see their reactions.
And more often than not, as I could assured thee be, they would unwillingly agree with it, to take our bargains - not because they like it or have any other choices, but they did it out of the desperation they're in - a little earning is much better than nothing - what we hold on the upper hands, what could they possible have a choice to counter them be, or with?
And so they took it;
and we noted them.
It is at that moment of our observations in so many of our travels been, that we come to realized and abled to see at this time of our wandering life is, that these individuals or small-scale service providers are indeed trying their best to win us over when we sought for their services to earn some money to feed the family as any of us do too, to keep the family afloat.
Seeing in them eager to try earning some money from travellers like we are, in order for them to earn for that moment a day's living - to support their respective families, to put food when home at the end of the day, so as to speak - we keep note of it further within the heart of ours.
Granted, that not all are as humble, honest and earnest as they could be when offering their services; but aren't we too finding these common in our own city nation? Some would resorted to cut corners in their offers and so on of the deceitful deeds.

But amongst them though there are always as many too, that are as equally honest to earn a deserving living for the day.
So what humanely rights do we have to squeeze from them a bargain that's much cheaper and benefitted us - when at one end of these bargains those individuals are made to toil their sweats or efforts - only to be given a heartbreaking cut off revenue, of an inhumane bargains we triumphant upon them, such needing and not so fortunate people?
How many more heartbreaks and discounted insults should they take for their hard, toiled efforts given should they tolerated with our unfairly & unjustly bargains?
If in the end, they began to lose all trust and respect of all tourists, and travellers alike that come to their places and began taking advantage of us instead, who then can be called the initiators of those unfortunate transactions be, in the first place?
We've learnt a long ago in many of those travels of ours that mutual respect are a thing of both ways: it should be given, and it shall be earned.
Both service providers and travellers/tourists must set a fairly agreed upon bargains, not a one-sided affair that could put the other one in most needed situation, be at a disadvantage.
Back to the setting/scenario shared earlier above:
So it goes that after we had initiated the bargains that put us at the upper hand, we would usually set forth with the journey or trip agreed upon, with the individual service provider.
We must say despite a cut off discount they suffered, they still delivered earnestly what they had promised to us and gave us their best services - but we often than not, I dare say, did not always keep to our part in the bargains: we often than not, break our own part and what we had promised.
......how could we have the heart
to keep it?
And so they usually would receive the original price they offered us, and on top of that all, we tipped them a fairly deserving token of appreciation for a job well-done, and for keeping us (the family) safe & well-taken care of - it's sort of to motivate them doing things honestly and deservingly right.
We, more often that not, broke our promise of the bargains with them because we cannot have the heart or the gal to to treat them unfairly with bargains that are so cruel to their well-being.
But still, though we broke our promises to them - we never had any of that problem or a war-like and a vehemently protest from them!!
We hugged,
and remained brothers.
......usually all would goes well, and to see that grin, that deserving smiles put back into their faces - I guess, we truly owed them a justifying and deserving respect & treatment from us.
*****
That bring us to one point:
We aren't rich.
But that doesn't means that we must slaughtered others to save some money via a upper hand bargains in our travel that inhumanely and unrightfully gave us that unscrupulous advantage, in an unethical way - and in doing so, bereft them a fair deal and into an undeserving situations of deserving price, whoever they are, and wherever they can be from.
They provided us a service, and justicely they shall reap what they deserved them to be, and we must recognise and respect that fair side of the bargains.
Then wherever we go, they would always have us in their utmost respectful regards, be."
