......the problem with our formal education system, and much elsewhere too, is that perhaps they don't prepare our children to be free, much so - to be happy.
Rather, they are set up to prepare them:
.....for work!
For that economical
means.
Whether they (our children) turned out happy or not, is a totally different thing altogether; educational papers, as life had revealed to us since, only provides a good job entry & a holding of a good designation, perhaps - but all that - not necessarily equates to a happy or a fufilled life - because our education system has not prepared nor has it hinged upon getting our children ready on how to cope with the everyday struggles and balancing of a life so demanding these days.
*****
......and we add to that chaos of a struggle through extending more - more learning, more tuition, more chasing, more demanding - more pressing on them - to the verge that we incurred a higher toll of stress upon their feeble & fragile formation years;
......life is shown early to them - that it's a competition, a fear of losing out has been engrained into their soil of souls.
They could only hear, and remember those daily chantings at home & schools, in their realms of societal upbringings - to get ahead, you must do more:
More;
and more!!
*****
More often than not, a job or work - is largerly undertaken by many as a mean of mere economic sustainability; hardly it is for greater passion, or of things, we truly believed in.
Out of the many, maybe only the small percentage is fortunate enough to traverse a different route altogether in life to fulfilling what they believed in, or moving about towards their core interest & passion.
I dare say too - as a parent myself - home too these days are now turned into an extended busy institutions - that only extended that exertions of an educational chase - with children given an extended tuitions and so on to excel in their gradings and what are there of the mad rat race life of today - that more, and more - thingy we talked about earlier on.
This brings me to one
ponder:
What are we creating them be - for that little baby we held in affection when they arrived in our arms - what have we made them become?
Are we creating a monster of confused beasts in them - one unable to see beyond what's in front of the immediate eyes - further to the far horizon and what else there are than the mere survivability of an economic and educational-chasing driven society we're in?
Where do we put their well-being and that sense of happiness in, and for, them?
Have we forgotten to let them enjoy for once - theirs - and only one of theirs in a lifetime of a childhood - that when gone, could never be retrieved again?
And that old voice retorted
so gungho-ly:
......oh, they could always catch up on those things to be happy about that they missed on previously, once they grow up and have a good job that would enable them to be in a good, and better position, to do just that:
Enjoying a good life with a good job that holds prestige & reputable standing for them!!
Said,
the old voice.

Or
Would it be a case of his ending up more, and more busier with pressing job demands & focus at work that has his hours extended everyday at the office, and in so had bereft the poor child in him that 'promised' joy & happiness once they are able to be out on their own working in a big corporation with great job tittle; had that not put them to feel being cheated, and given a broken promise to say the least?
It may not be an absolute case of certainty this painted scenarios are; but they're a familiarity, still so - isn't it?
*****
With all that's going on, indeed it's time to pull the handbrakes on this road of life and park our vehicle of journey - to take time and rethink what life is all about beyond those economical means & necessities are.
......it's about time we took time off to travel - to see the world and meet new people; to prise opened our minds & paradigms are, to a new level of living, seeing & experiencing things, so that we returned - into becoming that little profound bloke with a worldly views than that of the mere, immediate short-sighted beasts of things - we go beyond the limitedness of our mind and our thinking - into becoming that person we are - who hold that immense possibilities to manifest his life into a celebrated and triumphant journey.....
And
secondly:
We too, do that as well through the religiously zealous habits of reading and listening to good, mentoring speakers.
......reading and listening to well-learned people that makes our mind grow, that makes our mind learn new things and in all, that gives us a chance to hold on unto that very handle of our very own self-mastery!
*****
Our children need just as much of this and not the mere pursue of an educational paper & qualification.
......we too as adults to them, need to lead the way and if that requires a drastic pulled over and a deep relook of things - then out of it, if that needs to be acted upon to change it for the better course of things - and into a new format of living and arriving at things:
Then we owed it to them indeed that courage & accountability to show, and lead, them the way of how life can be led in a different way - but not in anyway than it's in a lesser responsibile in manner nor is it lesser by any counts of things.
Rather, it deeply gives due validation of a personal choice of life made - and that taking of that greater, and deeper sense of that owning of a self-responsibility paradigm of living."
