The Drop-In Sessions

One of the highlights of membership are the monthly drop-in sessions on Zoom. Our community gets together every month to learn about and discuss a literacy topic. Some of the things we have talked about in these drop-in sessions include:

• supporting students to formulate strong sentences
• scaffolding the leap from sentence writing to paragraph writing
• linking learning to writing
• teaching spelling
• writing with students who "hate writing"
• teaching handwriting effectively
• structured word inquiry techniques
• how to teach grammar in context
• how to manage the steep learning curve

We sometimes have guest speakers who visit with us to share their knowledge in a specific area.

These sessions are always free for members.
