Life has a lovely way of piling everything on at once.
Your coffee spills. Your phone dies. Someone says, "Everything happens for a reason," and suddenly you're considering a life of solitude in a cabin somewhere. Often solitude feels like the choice, and we all think we can go it alone; we are independent humans after all, right?
Moments of solitude are wonderful; we all need the peace sometimes, but friends, let me tell you this: connection matters!! Whether it is a village, a bestie or a supportive partner, we all need someone. Everything is easier with a friend
When we're walking through difficult seasons—whether it's chronic illness, grief, caregiving, burnout, anxiety, or simply trying to keep our heads above water financially, emotionally, or physically—it can feel incredibly isolating. Even when we're surrounded by people, loneliness has a sneaky way of whispering,
"No one really understands."
"You're the only one struggling."
"Everyone else seems to have it together."
"Don't bother anyone. They've got enough going on."
And for the record, our brains can be super dramatic sometimes. We should 100% not listen to it all the time.
Here's the truth.
Every person you pass is carrying something. A loss they don't talk about. A diagnosis that turned their life upside down. A dream that didn't work out. A worry that keeps them awake at 3 a.m. Everyone is walking around with a story we cannot see; everyone is going through something in life, big or small.
And yet, somehow, we still convince ourselves that we're the only ones who feel overwhelmed and drowning in the problems of life.
I've learned something through my own journey with loss, chronic illness, and life's unexpected detours.
Healing doesn't happen because someone has all the answers. Healing begins when someone simply says, "Come sit with me. You don't have to do this alone." This is the kind of connection that changes things in a big way.
Not the picture-perfect kind. The real kind.
The kind where mascara runs, laundry piles up, dinner is cereal because that's all the energy you had left, and someone loves you anyway.
The kind where you laugh so hard you snort...right after you've cried for twenty minutes.
(If you've never laughed until you cried—or cried until you laughed—are you even doing life?)
Connection reminds us that we're still human.
It gives us permission to stop pretending.
To admit we're tired.
To say, "I'm not okay today."
And to discover that those four little words don't push people away—they often invite them closer.
Connection changes everything.
Not because it magically fixes our problems. (Wouldn't that be nice?) Unfortunately, friendship and companionship don't come with a remote control that fast-forwards through the hard parts.
But because it reminds us that we don't have to carry those hard parts alone.
Sometimes connection looks like a friend who texts, "Thinking about you."
Sometimes it's someone who sits beside you in silence because there simply aren't words.
Sometimes it's laughing so hard over something completely ridiculous that, for a few precious minutes, you forget about everything that's weighing you down.
And sometimes connection comes from someone who's walked a similar road and quietly says, "I've been there. You're going to get through this."
That simple reminder can be enough to help us take the next step.
Sadly, the difficult times are often the very thing that convinces us to pull away from the very people we need most. We tell ourselves we're a burden. We don't want to complain. We think everyone else has enough going on already, and worst of all, we feel unseen by some, and that makes us question ourselves, like are we just being overly dramatic?
Meanwhile, the people who care about us are wishing we'd let them in. Take that in for a moment. They WANT to help. They WANT to walk alongside us.
Human beings were never designed to navigate life's storms in isolation. We were made for community, compassion, shared laughter, and yes—even ugly cries over coffee.
Especially ugly cries.
Connection is at the heart of everything I do.
YOU ARE NOT expected to figure it all out alone!
Whether you're living with chronic illness, grieving someone you love, adjusting to a major life change, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life . . .
My hope is that you'll always find a place where you can exhale.
Not a place where anyone expects you to have it all figured out.
Not a place full of impossible positivity or inspirational quotes that make you want to roll your eyes. Although those are great in moderation 😉
Just a gentle place to land.
A place where your story is welcome.
Where your hard days are acknowledged.
Where your victories—no matter how small—are celebrated.
And that you leave every room feeling
seen
Heard
Encouraged
Connected
Loved
Because connection doesn't erase grief,
It doesn't cure chronic illness,
It doesn't make difficult seasons disappear overnight,
But it does something incredibly powerful.
It reminds us that while our journey is uniquely ours...it is safe to let people in and to let them love us through it.
Will it always be perfect? Heck no, but who needs perfection anyway? We just need each other.
Thank you for hanging in while I rambled today; this was a long one lol, but when you write from the heart, words just find their way to the page.
I am glad you are here, and I hope this has helped you in some way.
Remember, you are not alone! I am here, I am honored beyond words that I get to be part of your village
and if someone hasn’t told you lately . . .
You are brave
You are strong
You are worthy
And it is very ok to not be ok. Let someone love you through the rough times and enjoy the good times with you.
It takes a village and your village can be one single amazing human or a room full
Whatever it looks like for you,
Never forget
We are in this little life together <3
Huge hugs from me to you <3
