Miniature whimsical buildings, coming soon to the shop
I’m excited to share something new that’s been quietly taking shape in my studio: Tiny Original Paintings (TOPs). These are small, hand-painted architectural originals — complete whimsical buildings created in miniature watercolor.
Each TOP is a tiny world of its own. A cottage with warm windows, a leaning tower, a cozy home with a crooked roof. They’re small enough to hold in your hand, but detailed enough to feel like a real place.
My first-ever TOPs release will arrive in a few weeks.
🏡 Why I Started Making TOPs
I’ve always loved drawing buildings that feel alive — charming, slightly imperfect, and full of personality. Creating them in miniature felt like a natural next step. It lets me focus on one building at a time and give it all the attention it deserves.
TOPs also offer a way to share original art that is:
• unique
• accessible
• easy to display
• and fun to collect
A tiny building can sit on a shelf, a desk, or a cozy corner and instantly add warmth.
🎨 How a TOP Is Created
Each TOP begins with a simple sketch of a building — usually something whimsical or slightly crooked. I keep the linework expressive, then build the structure with soft watercolor washes. Final details are added with ink and white highlights.
Because the pieces are so small, every detail matters. A chimney, a lantern, a roofline, a tiny balcony — these little touches bring each building to life.
Every TOP is:
• hand-painted
• one-of-a-kind
• signed
• created with archival materials
There are no prints of TOPs. Each one is truly unique.
💛 What Makes Them Collectible
Since this is the very first release, the collection is small and carefully curated. Each building is completely original, and once a piece is purchased, it won’t be recreated.
Collectors love TOPs because they’re:
• small and easy to display
• affordable entry points into original art
• full of personality
• part of a growing whimsical universe
The first drop is the beginning of something I hope to build over time — a tiny architectural world, one building at a time.
