The Power of 'Yes': How Choosing God's Will Led to an Incredible Project

This time last year, I eagerly awaited my debut as a contributing author in the anthology "If These Walls Could Talk" I'm so grateful I captured my nerves in Blog Post. Little did I know that God would use this act of obedience and surrender to prepare me for what was to come.

After submitting my chapter, Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance a project I had undertaken in college (2011) to create a handmade book focused on women in the bible.

So, a few weeks after turning in my contributing chapter I began writing about Leah. It was a weighty and daunting task, and honestly I avoided taking the next step for months. However, I eventually realized that God wouldn't allow anything I did to succeed until I fully embraced His will and said, "Yes, Lord!"

I shared the vision with my sisters and felt compelled to ask Debra Hearns - Cole to be part of it. She prayed and received confirmation. Then, I reached out to LaToya Bilbo who had been working on a writing workshop curriculum, which was confirmation for her as well.

Next, I contacted Blanka Tuma, who had been involved in the original project. To my surprise, she was working in book design and layout. Despite not having spoken to her in years, God placed her on my heart to design the book cover, which is absolutely beautiful. 💜

At the same time, God placed the desire to write in the hearts of 12 other incredible women. He confirmed and provided for them to join the project and share their testimonies.

It has been a labor of love, and we have grown closer as a result. Throughout this process, we have laughed, cried, prayed, and interceded for one another. We are incredibly excited to see how God will use this project to minister to other women.

As I reflect on the women in the Bible, I recognize that their willingness to say "Yes" to God's will went beyond personal benefits; it was connected to their nation and future generations.

This seed took over 10 years to grow, and it is indeed for such a time as this. I am grateful and thrilled to have been entrusted with this project, and I can't wait for all of you to join us in "Abba's Daughters: Everyday Women, Extraordinary God," which will be released on International Women's Day, March 8th on Amazon Kindle.

Moral of the story: There is a major difference between a good idea and God idea. A good idea you can do by yourself and only benefits you and your household.

A God idea you can't do it alone and it will benefit/fulfill others. HE will provide people and resources to make it happen. All we have to do is say "Yes" afraid, hesitant "Yes" and again people are waiting on your "Yes"
