Halloween Junk Journal Pages: A Printable Page Plan for September

Halloween is the one season where junk journal pages sell themselves - orange and black on aged paper is instantly readable, and buyers start looking in early September. Here is a practical page plan you can print this week, using our Halloween printables.

1. Start with a background that reads "old"

Use an aged cream or tea-stained paper as the base. Our free 12 vintage papers include a ledger page and a marbled endpaper that both work as Halloween backgrounds once you add orange and black on top.

2. Cut-apart clipart for the focal point

One or two big figures carry a page. The Halloween Clipart sheets have trick-or-treaters, black cats, owls, boho pumpkins and party treats, each on clean white so they cut out in seconds. Pick one figure as the focal point and one small one as an echo in the opposite corner.

3. Tags, tickets and labels for texture

The 16 Printable Sheets include a Halloween pumpkin gift-tag sheet - twelve tags with cut lines. Tuck two or three into a pocket, or tie one on with baker’s twine. A tag with real printed wording ("Trick or Treat", "Oct 31") does more for a page than any sticker.

4. Make your own ephemera sheets

If you sell on Etsy and need fresh sheets every week, these are the ChatGPT prompts we use for our own Halloween printables. Every example on the listing was made with the prompt shown:

5. Print settings that keep it flat

Print at 100% scale (never "fit to page"), on 160-200 gsm matte cardstock for figures and tags, and plain 80 gsm for backgrounds so they fold and layer. Let inkjet prints dry ten minutes before cutting.

Everything above is 300 dpi and licensed for the things you make and sell. Happy Hallowe’en.
