There’s something about job loss that isn’t talked about enough.
It’s not just about income.
It’s about safety.
It’s about waking up and feeling like something underneath you has shifted… even if everything around you still looks the same.
You might notice your thoughts becoming louder… maybe even a little chaotic.
Or your body feeling tense in ways you can’t quite explain.
Ugh… where did this knot come from?
Maybe you’re trying to stay calm, telling yourself it’s okay, that you’ll figure it out…
…but something still feels unsettled.
Off.
Like you’re missing something.... Ohhh the job, the routine...
And that can be confusing.
Because part of you knows you’re capable, more than.
And another part of you just wants things to feel steady again.
And then there’s that small voice that says,
“Forget it! I need a tiny vacation anyways.”
If you’re feeling that… you’re not doing anything wrong.
Your nervous system is responding to change.
It’s trying to protect you.
And when it’s in that state, everything can start to feel urgent.
Like… I need to fix this now!
Every thought.
Every decision.
Every “what if.”
But not everything needs to be solved right now.
Sometimes the first step isn’t action.
It’s settling.
Even just a little.
You might try something simple:
Pause for a moment.
Take a slow breath in.
And gently ask yourself…
“What is still okay right now?”
It doesn’t fix everything.
But it creates just enough space to begin again.
It helps you see where you are a little more clearly.
And sometimes, that’s all you need.
Just a place to start.
A place to breathe.
It’s hard to think clearly when everything feels urgent.
But clarity doesn’t come from pressure.
It comes after the calm.
When I lost my job, it felt daunting.
What am I going to do now?
I have a family to support.
Not to mention the cats!
I cried.
I sat with it.
I tried to calm myself enough to think clearly.
And slowly… I started looking for ways to help myself.
So if you’re moving through a season like this, I created something during my own rebuilding process.
It’s a 14-day guide to help you slow down, organize your thoughts, and take steady steps forward.
You’re welcome to explore it and see if it feels supportive to you.
And if not, it will be here when you need it.
