BIOGRAPHY

My name is Vito Tassone and I’m a Canadian songwriter-singer who brings experiences and passion to my music. At a young age of 4, I was given an accordion that was bigger than me to learn and play. An accordion because my parents deemed it a requirement of my Italian heritage upbringing. The size because I shared it with my older sister of 2 years. At every opportunity I was propped up and put into performance and entertainment mode by my parents, especially around family and neighbours.

High school began and the transition to a ‘much cooler to play’ keyboard/piano began, followed soon after by song writing. While studying Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph and then Professional Studies at The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, an acoustic guitar became an ever increasing companion and more songwriting continued.

Throughout my adult life I have been called somewhat of a Renaissance man having several concurrent vocations, avocations, hobbies and interests. In addition to over 25 years as sole proprietor, entrepreneurial Doctor of Chiropractic, I have been a Certified Motorcycle Instructor, I am a High Level Basketball Official and a current member of a local Classic Rock cover band on keyboards and vocals. In addition, there is a very important and relevant creative, musical artistic side I'll describe using the title of my original song "Just Another Closet Rocker Wanna Be". As the chorus lyrics state, I am “working on a plan to finally break free, hoping that someday someone discovers me". You see, I identify as a songwriter-singer and I am now realigning my focus and purpose to cultivate that passion. In order to accomplish this as an independent artist, I have also had to broaden my knowledge and skill set as a producer, sound engineer, publisher, label, photographer, videographer, label, marketer, website creator, etc.

My Mission is to begin formally sharing my songwriting and music on more platforms so as many people as possible can 'hear' them. My Vision is that those people will 'listen' and resonate with my music and lyrical messages to positively influence or impact their lives in some way. My musical influences are in the genres of rock and pop (Bon Jovi, Journey, Air Supply, Lionel Ritchie) and Christian Music (Jonathon Cain, Mercy Me). Although my preferred song style is primarily the slow tempo ballad type song, I have several poems, mid and uptempo creations. To challenge and improve my artistry, I have created works in diverse styles including jingles, children's music, instrumentals set to nature sounds, country, blues, pop, rock, dance and most recently Christian Music.

I have serious aspirations of being an established and recognized songwriter, but l have never put anything 'out there' as an official song release for a test run. As the aforementioned song's lyrics continue, "life just has a way to feel so serious, time and time again the dreams we have just get displaced and delayed. You've sometimes ought to take a shot, give all you've got, don't ever stop!"

There have been glimpses of social media ‘demos’ and the occasional live performances that have been received well. One musical career highlight involved an entry of an original song called Live Your Life into a CBC Music and Hockey Night in Canada Song Quest. It reached a respectable top 100 at the time with a strong inspirational lyrical message dedicated to all people so busy trying to make a living that they forget to live their lives. Its message was, "while you’re trying to making a living, just take time to stop and play, look around and listen. Take note of the things you’re missing, and live your life...like you are only here for one more day." Easier said than done, right?

Currently, after over 30 years of original song writing and over 70+ songs in the repertoire, on the radar is a soon to be released song single called It’s Time. With a title that sounds truly appropriate for a FIRST 'official' release, there is an entirely deeper and more significant underlying connotation. To better understand this, there is some background context you would need to know.

You see, during sleep I vividly dream with very realistic feeling messages and visions. Many dreams often come in the form of excerpts of (and sometimes entire) songs and concerts with completely original music and lyrics. Of all those songs, I believe that this particular one was chosen with Divine timing and purpose. I feel blessed to have received this gift of a prayer response from God after a period of experiencing recent very challenging life events.

Although I am a rather private person, I will share that one of those recent life events I refer to as a 'mortality moment'. I use that expression to describe a specific time in someone’s life, that not everyone experiences, when they face a truly life threatening or near death event that completely changes their perspective and outlook on what their purpose and plan is from that time onwards.

With all that background context now explained, I'll tell you the deeper and underlying connotation of It’s Time. As is revealed in the chorus and bridge lyrics, it is actually a prayer in a song format. I not only often sing it to reinforce my post mortality moment new purpose, plan and commitment to God, but as a prayer message and beacon of light for others to do the same because "It's Time"!

"It’s time to surrender. It’s time to believe.

It’s time to have faith in what Your plan is for me.

I may not see the answers. I may not understand.

It’s time that my life be given into Your hands.

It’s time. Oh Lord. It’s time I give You me.

It's time.

I remember Your promise. I remember Your plan.

When You gave up Your Son into humanity’s hands.

He paid the ransome. He paid the price for life."
