Around the years 1300 -the 1800s a very cold event took place across Europe and North America coined as the “Little Ice Age”. Temperatures became so cold that George Washington and his troops crossed the Delaware River where the water was completely frozen (Library of Congress, 1174 - 1783) . They nearly froze to death that winter at Valley Forge. Just after the little ice began, in the year 1303, a major subduction zone earthquake took place in the Medeterainian Ocean. This earthquake produced a major tsunami that overtook the island of Crete killing 4000 people (Guidoboni, E, Comastri, A. 1997). Work done by Bill Mcguire suggests that earthquakes of this magnitude could be caused by the beginning ice sheets and the pressure they produce while developing upon the earth. He also suggests because of the Little Ice Age current ice sheets that are now retrieveving will release pressure forming more earthquakes (McGuire, B. 2009).
Volcanoes that erupted in Europe around 1275 A.D. are the most likely contributing factor to the “Little Ice Age''. These volcanoes produced many tons of carbon dioxide and iron oxide into the atmosphere. This caused the cooling effect that was pronounced enough to bring such a hard ice age cycle to North America and Europe. The skies became cloudy with aerosols from the erupting volcanoes and brought temperatures into anomalies never seen before throughout that generation (Parry, W. 2012).
A second possible reason for the “Little Ice Age” is the Adams Implosion Effect. The Adams Implosion Effect is caused by rising parts per million in the atmosphere that causes a warming of the tropopause. This warming forces the warm air to punch through into the mesosphere and with a loud explosive boom (similar to thunder) forces the cold air to the surface producing a quick flash freeze if everything comes together just right. The air in the mesosphere would be in a round trajectory and with tremendous speed hit the earth producing a crater as found 650,000 years ago in the Gulf of Mexico. Also, this same crater was found in the Desert of Saudi Arabia around 1303 except in a smaller version. There are some arguments as to the exact date this crater was developed but the earthquake and “Little Ice Age” point to this time frame (Adams W. 2021). Also, in 1991 the CIA had similar reports of a trajectory developing in Russia which never fully developed into the next “Little Ice Age'' because of where the earth was to the sun at the time of triggering this effect (UNCALS, 1991). Another ice age will be triggered soon as parts per million reach large quantities across the world triggering this effect. (Adams, W. 2021).
