Dioxins would most likely be isolated. This would mean that rural areas would be the most impacted as they grow their gardens and shoot game for food. Once dioxins enter the plant they will then move to higher food chains such as animals or humans. In animals, the dioxin sets up in the fat areas of their bodies. As humans kill the game animals and use them for food then the dioxin would move from the animal to the human. At that point, any number of diseases could result in eating the contaminated game or plant species. Is this a major threat in Ohio? It is yet to be determined but most likely dioxin returns from field testing will be low or none at all. This would indicate that the real threat is in rural areas if that turns out to be the case.
