A surface low over Louisiana, and a cool front extending south in the Gulf of Mexico, with a warm front developing over Northern Florida on Saturday. The warm front will eventually move into Georgia and the surface low will track toward Central Georgia by Saturday morning. This will bring a risk of hail, wind, and tornadoes to much of Southern Georgia. CH4 levels from along the Atlantic Coast through tree stem release are running 1 um2 to 150 um2. CH4 levels from rivers near the Atlantic Coast are running 175 um2. NO3 fields across Southern Georgia are running 0040 to 0081 this morning. Tree stem release of deciduous trees in Southern Florida is running from less than 1 um2 to 15 um2. Angiosperm release of CH4 in Southern Georgia will range from less than 1 um2 to 24 um2.
The best chance of tornado activity today in Georgia would be near Thomasville and Brunswick Georgia. This is because CH4 levels and NO3 appear to balance in those areas. However, near Brunswick Georgia is a question as to whether the NO3 field can hold up into the afternoon hours to actually help develop tornadoes. Regardless, EF-0 to EF-2 tornadoes will be possible in these areas across Southern Georgia. Isolated areas of EF-0 to EF-1 exist across Southern Georgia but these two locations have the best chance of the strongest tornadoes if they can actually form.
