Sarasota Emergency Manager reporting that Venice Florida has water in people's homes from Hurricane Ian. Also, roads are flooded around the Venice region. Highland, Hardee, and Polk Counties in Florida are under flash flood warnings for heavy rains from Hurricane Ian currently. Flash flood emergency continues for portions of Western Florida currently.
Roofs are reported collapsed in Fort Myers and Naples. Catastrophic flooding was reported in Western Florida near and in Fort Myers and Naples areas. Houses in Fort Myers and Naples Florida are reported as submerged in some areas. Also, trees are reported down and power outages are numerous (Spata, C., Peace, L., Barnes, B., 2022).
