I have taken quite a journey with crafting in the last year or two. Learning, experimenting, buying tools and supplies. Watching literally hundreds of YouTube videos on all sorts of topics. Resin projects, card making, Cricut projects, laser, gelli-plate, button making, sewing, the list goes on. I am far too easily distracted by something new!
However, I have managed to complete a few things, and some of them were very good therapy for me while I have been affected by my health condition.
Now, I can't let all those supplies go to waste! Nor can I let all that time spent learning techniques be for nothing. So, that has been a motivator to look at selling physical craft products.
And as part of that journey, I looked at selling online. Which then led me to my other passion, which is graphic design. I have been making various designs for years, and have put some designs on shirts and gifts for family and friends. But I only recently thought about selling them online. Print-on-demand was a new concept for me. That has also been a huge learning journey as I learn about different platforms and strategies for selling online.
I design because I love to do it. Creating items is a rewarding thing to do. We now have the makings of our own design space in our back yard. My husband (the Will in Willia Craft Studio) is very handy with woodworking and construction. We have a space for our laser machine and for me to have dedicated sewing and craft space. Will has a space for his tools and books. Or at least will do, after we have finished everything. We have embraced solar energy for the new studio, but haven't got everything hooked up yet.
Everyone has their own "happy place" and hopefully our home and studio will be that place for us for many years to come. I hope you also take the time to nurture your creative side, to find your happy place, or fulfill a dream.
regards,
Lia
