The Lams

So it's been a wie while since I last posted and this is going to be a short post regrettably. As usual that pesky thing called life got in the way and I've been abit distracted from working on the loom. However I have made some steps towards refurbing the loom.

In the picture is shown the four lams I have roughed out and attached onto the loom. With a supporting pivot bar from my scrap metal box and held on with a cheap Wilkos bracket I had hiding in the back of one of my drawers.

The for lams have been pre drilled for all the connecting threads to be tied in to the appropriate peddles and later when the heddle shafts and heddles are replaced they will also be tied together in the correct order.

The shafts will be suspended form above with pulleys and horses or just pulleys perhaps as there are two different arrangements I could use with some thought. I'll hopefully cover that in the next blog and a bit more details on the various arrangements and how it all works.

Till then have fun, Wolfie
