Because I don’t think we talk about this enough.
When was the last time you sat in silence…
No TV.
No phone.
No scrolling.
No noise.
Just you.
Yeah… I already know.
It’s been a minute.
And listen, I’m not judging you because for a long time, I avoided quiet too.
Not because I was busy… but because I didn’t want to hear my own thoughts.
The Truth We Don’t Always Say Out Loud
Sometimes we stay distracted on purpose.
We keep the TV on.
We scroll longer than we should.
We stay “busy.”
Because the moment it gets quiet…
everything we’ve been avoiding gets loud.
Your thoughts.
Your emotions.
Your truth.
And that can feel uncomfortable.
But let me tell you something real…
Your quiet time is not your enemy.
It’s your healing space.
Why Quiet Time Matters (More Than You Think)
Quiet time is where clarity lives.
It’s where you start to hear yourself again.
Not the world… not social media… not other people’s opinions.
YOU.
Your desires.
Your needs.
Your next steps.
And if you’re anything like me; balancing work, marriage, life, responsibilities; you need that space.
Because if you don’t sit with yourself…
you’ll start living on autopilot.
And that’s not the life we’re building over here.
My Personal Shift
I had to learn how to be still.
Not perfectly.
Not for hours.
But intentionally.
Sometimes it looks like:
- Sitting at my desk with my journal
- Lighting a candle
- Writing out what I’m feeling
- Or just sitting there… breathing
No pressure. No performance.
Just presence.
And what I realized is this…
Peace doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from slowing down enough to hear yourself.
If You Don’t Know Where to Start… Start Here
Don’t overcomplicate this.
You don’t need a whole routine.
You don’t need the perfect setup.
Start with 5–10 minutes.
That’s it.
Here’s what you can do:
- Sit in silence
- Journal one question: “How am I really feeling today?”
- Take a few deep breaths
- Put your phone in another room (yes, I said it)
That small moment?
It will shift more than you think.
This Week, I Want You To Try This
I’m not asking you to change your whole life overnight.
But I am asking you to be intentional.
Give yourself quiet time this week.
Not when everything is perfect…
but right in the middle of your real life.
Because that’s where the transformation happens.
