Ivy Cardigan

IVY is a classic raglan cardigan made with eyecatching lace panels at front bands. The garment is knitted seamlessly from top to bottom. First You will make the lace back neck collar from which you will pick up the yoke stitches. The yoke is shaped with raglan method, the body is worked back and forth, in stockinette stitch with lace front panels and the sleeves are knitted in the round, in stockinette stitch. Both, the body and the sleeves are finished with wide garter stitch hems. The pattern gives You an option to choose from two length versions for the body and for the sleeves. You can also add the pockets to the body, if You like.
The sample cardigan is knitted in long version for the body, with full length sleeves and with the pockets.

The cardigan is designed to be worn with approximately 5 cm / 2” of negative or positive ease at bust.
The sample was knit in size XL with 3 cm of negative ease at bust.

YARN
( 4, 5, 5 ) { 5, 6, 6 } ( 7, 7, 7 ) skeins of Martin’s Lab Bouncy Sport (100% merino wool; 300 m / 328 y per 100g)

Note that the yardage is estimated and is given for long version of the body with long sleeves and pockets.

NEEDLES
4.0 mm (US 6) circular and dpns needles, or size needed to get the right gauge;
3.75 mm (US 5) circular and dpns needles, or one size smaller than the gauge needles.

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
8 stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle for weaving, scrap yarn or stitch holders.

GAUGE
22 sts and 28 rows/rounds per 10 cm (4”) in stockinette stitch with 4.0 mm (US 6) needles, after wet blocking.
Adjust needle size if necessary to get given gauge.
