Module 2: The Suit of Cups
Module 2: The Suit of Cups
Finding Meaning in the Grail
❖ Module Overview:
Welcome to the next stage of our journey, with a deep dive into the Suit of Cups. Just as we did with Swords, we’ll:
- Explore the history of the cup and its use as a symbol.
- Examine its use in different cultures.
- Find the primary meaning associated with the symbol.
- Connect all the different meanings to one underlying theme.
The term cup, in reference to the Suit of Cups, is an oversimplification. The symbolism might refer to a goblet, chalice, or even a drinking bowl. We'll need to cast our net wide to find the meaning at the bottom of the cup.
I'll share some of the interesting things I've discovered, while you, as in Module 1, conduct your own research. You might be surprised by what you find.
Before assigning a meaning to the Suit of Cups, we’ll examine:
- Tea Ceremonies, and the act of sharing.
- The Holy Grail.
- Pagan and Mythological Cups.
- Biblical Cups.
