Modular Baby Cardigan 4ply V

A modular baby cardigan/jacket made with 4ply/fingering weight superwash yarn. I used Austermann Step because it’s soft (contains jojoba oil and aloe vera) and machine washable. Ideal for baby skin and less work for busy Mums!

Knitted in one piece to avoid (or reduce) seaming. Uses mitred squares and each piece is picked up from the last, join as you go.


Yarn used
Austermann Step 4ply sock yarn Fingering / 4 ply 75% Wool, 25% Nylon
420 meters / 100 grams
Colour - Multi 100g per ball
Machine washable and dryable at coolest setting (30c).
Amount used
1, 1-2, 2, 2 balls approximately
Tension
24 stitches and 48 rows, measured over 10cm in garter st
Needles used
Size 4mm/US6/UK8 straight and circular needles and optional dpns for icord edgings (I used straight needles)
Other tools required
eg. tapestry needle for finishing, small buttons, 4mm crochet hook to make buttons (optional).
