This workbook is a follow up to the full e-Book that highlights the in-depth concepts when it comes to learning these 7 modes on the guitar. This workbook is intended to give you some EXTRA experience learning, practicing, and memorizing the 7 diatonic modes.
Please print out the pages that require you to fill out the answers, and if you’d like, you can print additional copies and fill these practice pages out over and over and over again. That’s what I did.
I remember being 13 years old, staying with my Grandpa for the entire summer of 1994 and visiting North Carolina for the very first time. I had quite a bit of free time on my hands that summer and spent many hours playing guitar. Sometimes I spent the nearly the whole day writing songs, learning to read music, and inventing exercises to help me become a better guitarist. This was before the days of the internet where you could find lessons and learn just about any instrument. I had to sit there for hours and just… make stuff up :-) …and it was a TON of fun!! That summer was a changing point for me. Right there in North Carolina I invented many of the practice philosophies that I still use to this day. I’ve taught these same exercises and drills to hundreds of students… which for me is absolutely the best part. I love teaching music and seeing students make little bits of progress over the course of weeks, months, and years.
