The Alphas Obsession
PROLOGUE: A WORLD OF IRON AND GOLD
❧
The Caeldrath Empire was not built on love. It was built on conquest — on the spilling of
blood across a thousand golden plains, on the bowing of stubborn necks beneath an iron
crown. For three centuries, the Drakhar family had ruled with an absolute fist, their word
law, their shadow long enough to swallow entire kingdoms.
At its centre sat the Obsidian Throne, carved from a single piece of volcanic rock dragged
from the bowels of the Ashfen Mountains. Legends said it had never been sat upon by a
weak man. Legends also said it could sense cowardice and would splinter beneath the
weight of a faithless ruler.
Whether that was true, no one dared test it.
And upon that throne, as cold and unreadable as the stone beneath him, sat Alpha Kaelan
Drakhar — the Obsidian King, the Unbroken, the last of his bloodline. Twenty-six years
old. Unmarried. Feared by every lord in the empire and desired by every woman who had
ever laid eyes on him.
He had never wanted any of them.
Until her.
She was a spark in a world built to drown fire. He was the storm that
decided she was worth burning for.
