It was a cold autumn day when Shauna walked into her family's opulent home, heels clicking on the marble floor. The stepdaughter of a wealthy businessman, Shauna was used to a life of luxury. She sauntered into the kitchen, still wearing her red high heels from a day out shopping with her friends.

Shauna's stepbrother Little Timmy was walking underfoot, only visible as a tiny speck on the floor. At 5 years old, Timmy had been stricken with a mysterious virus that shrank him down to the size of an ant. The doctors were baffled and hoped he would return to normal size in time.

Unaware of the tiny boy, Shauna strode over to the kitchen island, her heels echoing loudly. She didn't notice as the arch of her shoe pressed down on Timmy, instantly pulverizing his minuscule body.

"Oof, that felt weird," Shauna muttered, looking down. She saw only a tiny red smear on the sole of her stiletto. Shrugging, she continued to the fridge to grab a diet soda, having squeezed the last breath out of her stepbrother without realizing it. The tiny boy's lifeless body was now just an unrecognizable smudge.

Timmy's parents returned home late that evening. His mother immediately noticed her son was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is Timmy?" She called out in alarm. "He's not in his room."

"Maybe he's with Shauna," Timmy's father replied. "Have you seen him, dear?"

Shauna paused her phone video game and glanced up. "No idea. Haven't seen him all day. Maybe he's playing hide-and-seek?"

Timmy's parents searched the house frantically to no avail. They called the hospital and were shocked to learn that tiny Timmy was missing.

The next morning, Shauna awoke to frantic screams from downstairs. Startled, she rushed to look. Her parents were trying to comfort her hysterical stepmother.

"What's going on?" Shauna asked, voice still groggy from sleep.

"Timmy's gone! We can't find him anywhere," her father said gravely. "The hospital says he vanished sometime yesterday. Do you have any idea where he could be?"

Shauna gasped. She hadn't seen her stepbrother since the day before. A sudden memory flashed of the odd smushy feeling under her shoe. But no, that was impossible. She must have stepped on something else.

"No...I didn't see him at all yesterday," she said. "This is so weird!"

The family agonized over the weekend, putting up missing posters and contacting the police. But there was no sign of little Timmy. By Tuesday, Shauna was creeped out by the extremely odd circumstances.

She kept thinking back to the strange feeling under her shoe on Saturday. Could it be...? No, she shook her head. The thought was too bizarre. She definitely would have seen a tiny person underfoot.

That night, as she got ready for bed, Shauna paused to look at the red stiletto heels she had worn that day. She turned one over, cringing at the tiny reddish smear still visible on the sole. It almost looked like...

Quickly, Shauna shoved the shoes under her bed. She didn't want to think about it anymore. Pacing her room, she tried to distract herself. But she couldn't shake the feeling that she had done something terrible, almost too awful to contemplate...
