COMMUNICATION OFFICE HOURS

For people who have something important to say, explain, present or persuade, and want help getting it right.

One hour, one-to-one, online. Bring a talk, a message or a conversation that matters, and leave knowing how to make it land.

£150 · 60 minutes · Online

Get better at communicating what matters.

One hour, one-to-one, on something you need to say, explain, present or persuade.

We work on the message itself and how to get it across, so it lands with the people who matter.

Bring one of these

  • A talk or keynote, at any stage from first idea to the week before
  • A presentation, pitch or proposal that needs someone to say yes
  • A difficult conversation you'd like to get right first time
  • A workshop you're designing
  • An important message: an announcement, an update, a change
  • An idea you can see clearly but can't quite explain

You leave with

  • A clearer message: what you're really saying, in a sentence
  • A better way to communicate it, in the format that suits the room
  • Practical advice on making it land

What one hour covers

One talk, one message or one conversation. If it's a whole keynote from scratch, we'll shape the core of it in the hour; a second hour can take it the rest of the way.

How it works

  1. Buy the hour. You'll be taken straight to my calendar to pick a time.
  2. Tell me in two or three lines what you're bringing. Send any draft, deck or notes you'd like me to read first.
  3. We meet on a video call for 60 minutes.

The small print

Online, 60 minutes, one-to-one, and confidential.

Need to move it? Reschedule up to 24 hours before. If you change your mind before booking a time, I'll refund you in full.

Your receipt can go through as a business expense.

Not sure this is the right hour?

If you're trying to work out why something at work isn't moving, the Idea to Value Office Hour is the one.

Both are explained at cultivatednotes.com/office-hours

Questions people ask

Do I need to prepare anything?

No. Bring the thing and anything you already have: notes, a draft, a deck, a sketch.

Can my company pay for it?

Yes. You'll get a receipt when you book, which most people can claim back. The Idea to Value hour in particular is often booked as a business expense.

Is it confidential?

Yes. What you bring stays between us.

Can I book more than one?

Yes. Some people book the 4 session package, or a second hour a few weeks later to see how the first steps went, or to work on the next part.

Is this for teams?

Office Hours is one person and one thing.

For a team, the workshops do the same work with the whole room: the Idea to Value Workshop for situations, and Zero to Keynote or the communication workshops for getting things across.

Who you'd be talking to

I'm Rob Lambert.

I've led engineering and led HR, often in the same business, so I tend to see the people side and the delivery side of a problem at the same time.

I've helped scale a business from barely making payroll to an exit, run the Idea to Value Workshop more than 300 times, and written Zero to Keynote, Effective Workplace Communication and The Life of an Idea.

I've been a presentation and communication trainer for many years too.

Most of what I bring to an hour comes from having been stuck in the messy middle myself, more than once.
