5. Insects & Bugs: letter I, number 3, triangles, a gentle bug look and parts of a butterfly.

6. Night & Nocturnal Animals: letter N, black, light and dark, who comes out at night and feeling scared is OK.

7. My Family: letter M, number 4, squares, a picture graph of the people you love and kind words at home.

8. Pets: Dogs & Cats: letter D, brown, what pets need, dog or cat and caring for others.

Families look different, and the pages say so: a child can draw any people they love, or a pretend family. No page asks for private family details. No pet is needed for the pets week. Bug activities are look-don't-touch, with a picture or toy option.

Start with the Age 3 row on number and counting pages. The stretch row is optional for children who are ready. A grown-up should supervise cutting, playdough, stickers, clothespins and outdoor activities.
