About The Author

19 years after her first memoir “Refuse To Lose", Demetria Buie wrote a follow up charting her

continued evolution. Since early age, the Louisiana-born Demetria has had a tough life that

instead of breaking her, only serves to mold her incredible perseverance. Her undeterred spirit

led her to various work in the area of entrepreneurship and advocacy. Being thrice tested for

Lupus in multiple occasions ignited her dedication to raising awareness as a Lupus advocate. In

October 2023, Demetria Buie’s mother passed from cancer so unexpectedly. This marked a

turning point that inspired the birth of Naked, her second memoir.

Through various platforms, Buie hopes to inspire countless individuals to embrace their true

selves, overcome obstacles, following your own path, and pursue their dreams relentlessly.
