The Birds and The Bees
Our goal is not to teach our children about how to make a baby, but how a baby develops!
As our children grow, they are going to hear
about “the birds and the bees” from other kids, and the information
they get on the playground can be confusing or inaccurate. We want
them to learn the natural, biological basics at home first.
One approach to teaching the mechanics of reproduction without
discomfort is to literally study the birds and the bees. By watching
how animals mate, birth, and raise their young in nature, families can
talk through the biological process as a science lesson about survival
and family, rather than as a single hushed conversation.
