About the Design
Primrose Hill is the perfect all-season contemporary cardigan for little girls. Knit seamlessly from the top down, it features a simple no-cable motif. These pretty details give the classic cardigan a “wow” factor that makes it perfect for gifting.

The smallest three sizes can be knit with a single special skein of fingering/sock yarn. So take a look in your stash and cast on right away!

Construction
The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down, beginning with a raglan yoke. A motif panel is worked down both fronts and along the raglan seams on front and back. Sts are held for sleeves and knitting continues on the body, with wider motif panels extending from underarms to hem. Sleeves are worked in the rnd from the top down. The motif can be knit from charted or written instructions, whichever you prefer.

Sizing Notes
  • To ensure an accurate fit, measure the child and choose a size that matches their chest rather than their age. Adjust length of body as needed, using the schematic.
  • The pattern has a closer fit for smaller sizes, to avoid swamping tiny babies in excess fabric.
  • The cardigan is designed to fall open below the buttons, so the ease at chest is measured with no overlap of the buttonbands, as shown in the photo above. If you choose to add more buttons on the front, you may wish to knit a larger size.
