#CreateTogether

There is something magical about creating together. Whether we’re cooking, dancing, or knitting, when we do it together what we make is more than the sum of its parts. In the process we build connections that fulfill the deep need for community common to all our human hearts.

The #CreateTogether Cowl is about just that magic moment; the one we create together. It is a bulky cowl designed to show off a single skein of yarn, be it variegated, tonal, a gradient, or even a bulky handspun. Knit flat and grafted, the #CreateTogether will use up the whole of the skein and can be knit in a long afternoon while chatting with friends. This pattern was inspired by the Eugene, Oregon arts group #Instaballet, which inspires me to think outside the box, create in community, and spend more time laughing and enjoying with friends.

For this design gauge is not essential. Choose the grafted version for something seamless, or the buttoned up version for the fun of choosing buttons.

Supplies:

• 100g (100+ yards) bulky yarn. Models shown in Always Be Kind Bulky Bliss (Black Sheep Rainbows) and Spincycle Plump (Strawflower).
• US11 (8mm)
• 6 stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
• Seamless version: crochet hook & scrap yarn for provisional cast on. An extra US11 for grafting
• Button version: Four 1” buttons
