Narrow Escape: Your Success Philosophy: 12 Principles to Escape
I did not set out to write a philosophy book.
I set out to survive.
The philosophy came later, after I had lived enough of the wrong life to recognise what the right one looked like. After I had walked enough of the wide road to know, in my bones, that it leads somewhere I did not want to go. After I had discovered, through loss and failure and faith, that there is another road. Harder. Lonelier. But alive with meaning.
This book is not written from a position of having arrived. I am still walking. I am still learning. I still make choices daily between comfort and discipline, between the easy path and the true one. What this book offers is not perfection. It offers honesty. It offers a framework, twelve principles that I have tested against my own life and found to be real.
Philosophy without application is entertainment. What I have tried to write here is something you can use. Something that meets you where you are, whether you are standing in a township in Zimbabwe, a flat in London, a dorm room in America, or a quiet room anywhere in the world where you have finally decided that the life you have been living is not the life you were built for.
I come from the streets. I speak plainly. I do not dress my ideas in language designed to impress academics. I dress them in language designed to wake people up. Because waking up is the first principle. And this whole book begins there.
Read it slowly. Read it honestly. Read it with the part of you that already knows there is more to your life than what you have settled for.
That part of you is right.
