Advent of Hygge is a printable advent calendar with 24 small, screen-free moments for your family. Hygge (say hoo-gah) is the Danish art of creating a life where people feel safe, connected, cared for and able to enjoy the simple moments together. Each day's card gives you one simple way to feel it as a family, and when you flip it over, there's a woodland animal for little hands to color in.

THE 24 DAYS

Activities are grouped into six themes: Light, Nature, Together, Kindness, Make and Rest. They include a noticing walk, a blanket fort story night, treats for a neighbor, feeding the birds, a lantern walk at dusk, a candlelight breakfast on one of the darkest mornings of the year, and a winter solstice evening on December 21. Almost everything uses things you already have at home.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Download and print on regular paper or cardstock. Print the card pages double-sided (flip on the long edge) for a coloring picture on each back.
2. Cut out the cards and tuck each one into an envelope, bag or box with a number tag.
3. Open one each day from December 1 to 24.
4. Color in the tracker and read your gratitude jar together on Day 24.
