Baroque Homework Pack: 6 exam-style homework sheets (Cambridge IGCSE Music 0410/0978, AoS 1)
Six ready-to-set homework sheets covering Area of Study 1 (Baroque Music), written by a working IGCSE Music teacher and road-tested with a real exam class.
Each sheet is about 25 minutes of student work, out of 23–25 marks:
- A short theory warm-up with properly engraved notation (note naming, terms; treble clef, then bass clef as the pack progresses)
- Two or three exam-style listening questions on real Baroque recordings, weighted to long responses (4–6 marks each), in genuine exam wording
- A booklet-linked written task and a model "examiner's sentence" showing the feature + effect habit that scores marks
- A full teacher answer key with point-marked mark schemes for every question
The listening is the clever part: **nothing to download or license**. Every extract streams from a dedicated page on studyigcsemusic.com: each sheet carries the link and a QR code, and extracts are labelled neutrally (Extract A, Extract B) so identities never leak. Extract identities are revealed only in the teacher keys.
Covers: the Baroque sound and the basso continuo · Vivaldi and the solo concerto (Spring focus work) · Handel's Op. 6 No. 5 (focus work) · polyphony, imitation and the fugue · instruments and ornamentation by ear · ground bass and a whole-AoS round-up.
Works alongside our AoS 1 Baroque Revision Booklet (each sheet references its chapters), but it stands alone without it.
**Licence:** one household or one teacher's own classes. School-wide use: see the department licence on studyigcsemusic.com/for_departments.html.
