Inspired by the Witchcraft hat and my love of all things slipped stitch, the Simply Taboo socks are another experiment in creating stranded-style patterning without the fuss. The interwoven diamond shapes on these socks are created by strategically slipping stitches, so you’re never working with more than one strand of yarn at the time. The interplay between the two colorways, Andromeda and Ultra Violet, creates a pattern that appears to fade in and out as the purple in the variegated yarn blends with the solid—reverse your colors on the second sock for a particularly playful pair of nearly-matching socks. Sprout Sock is a hefty fingering weight with impressive yardage, so you’ll easily get at least 2 pair of socks from 2 skeins, even in the largest size, and they’re worked from the toe up, so you can use up every last bit of yarn.
