The PDC. The educational event that has become famous around the globe for transforming lives, landscapes and communities. It’s a class that can show you a new way of understanding the world, a new way of relating with nature around you, and help you “identify opportunities for satisfaction, growth and “right livelihood” in your community and environment that were invisible before.

This is a Permaculture Design Course to train and equip visionaries, entrepreneurs, professionals, organizers, and activists to understand and apply the principles that nature herself uses to create these enduring “regenerative” systems that aren’t just “sustainable,” but that grow better over time. These principles can be applied to physical “habitats” like landscapes, gardens, farms, and housing, but also to “invisible” structures like communities, organizations, businesses, neighborhoods or even local economies.

Full Course and Certification

Certification through Transformative Adventures, with Mike Hoag as your main certifying teacher.

Certification requires:
— attending at least 4 live sessions “office hour” sessions on Zoom.
—submitting a passing design sketch, presentation, or video.
—1 on 1 design review meeting with Mike in one of the live sessions.

Professionals Landscape Transformation Business Module.

Start your own local Landscape Transformation Program, and transform your food forest hobby into an income stream, or even a full-time job. This includes the full PDC plus my landscape transformation program videos, and additional classes to help you be successful. We’ll schedule monthly meetings and walk you through setting up and launching your own program this Spring! Support will continue through 2025.

Live Online 2025 Transformative Adventures Permaculture Design Certificate Course!

This is the PDC famous to industry insiders, often taken as an advanced PDC by those who’ve done other courses but felt they were too introductory.

This version of Permaculture is deeply geeky, cutting-edge, and research-based. It’s intended for practitioners who are serious about making their living doing the work of building a Permaculture world.

The hybrid structure includes over 150 hours of pre-recorded self-study content, with 2 weekly meetings Tuesdays and Saturdays, and special events through the Spring. That allows you to complete the whole classic PDC curriculum at your own pace, following the topics that interest you, and with greater depth than in a traditional course. Course components will be available in modules and in intensive sessions on TikTok Live. Registering for a full PDC entitles students access to any modules through the duration of their program.

For those able to drive to Fort Wayne, this also allows you to attend my live Landscape Transformation Programs on the 3rd Saturday of each month, April through November.

The in-person/online hybrid design allows maximum flexibility. And the Landscape Transformation module helps you develop a collection of high-quality Permaculture plants and stable guilds to begin transforming your landscape.
