The Mixtape Magic cassette patch is one of my most intricate and satisfying designs, packed with personality: a rainbow peeking out the side, fabric letters you choose yourself, two little circles made from your favorite patterned scraps, and a spot at the bottom for something special — a butterfly, a flower, a dancing bear, whatever makes your heart sing.

You'll need: fabric scraps (the more variety the better!), Pellon Wonder Under 805 or fabric glue, fabric scissors, small embroidery scissors for the letters, an iron, and a sewing machine or needle and thread.

The finished patch is designed to be about 4.8" tall × 7" wide — big enough to be a statement piece on the back of a jacket or the front of a tote. Scale it up or down on your copy machine to make it your own.

Pro tip: old denim makes the most amazing background. Dig out those dead jeans. 🪡
