Stripper Deck

Most people who own a stripper deck use it to find one card. This is nineteen minutes on what else it will do.

It starts with how the deck works and how to shuffle and control with it, then goes straight into seven routines that run from a quiet cut to a knife through a wrapped deck.

Geared toward intermediate to advanced performers. A few of the routines need supplies, though most performers will already have what they need.

The seven effects

• Stripped Aces. The deck is shuffled and mixed, cut a few times, and the four aces are on top.
• Tabled. A card is chosen and lost. The wrong card is shown and tossed to the table. You ask for another chance and cut to that same wrong card, then turn over the one on the table. It is theirs.
• Color Strip. A shuffled deck, mixed in a genuinely random order, cut twice, then spread face up and fully separated into reds and blacks.
• Size 13 Suit. The deck is mixed and turned face down. With one cut, the top cards turn over one at a time in perfect order, all in the same suit.
• Gotcha Cut. A chosen card is returned. You cut, hold the upper half, and show the wrong card. Then the half in your hand is turned face up and their card is in it.
• Rising Card. A chosen card is returned and the deck is covered with a handkerchief. Slide a hand along the side and a card rises beneath the cloth. Lift it away and the chosen card is standing out of the deck.
• Card Stab. A chosen card is returned and the deck is wrapped in a paper napkin. A knife is plunged in, the cards above it are torn away, and the chosen card is there.
