  • This is not a class on Free Motion Quilting (although the fundamentals of free motion stitching are the same).
  • This course explores thread sketching and thread painting using a domestic sewing machine. It is not a course in thread painting by hand.

What You Need

  • A domestic sewing machine capable of free motion stitching. **Details given in the course.
  • An open-toe free motion foot to fit to your sewing machine. **Details given in the course.
  • Basic sewing supplies.
  • Cotton fabric. 
  • Stabiliser. **Details given in the course.
  • Low-loft batting.
  • Machine embroidery threads.


All requirements are fully described in the course material, and include comprehensive, downloadable PDFs. It's quite possible you have many of the necessary items in your sewing kit already!
