Deborah Leads the Way

By Kimani Upshur, M.Ed.

Long ago, when Israel had no king, God raised up Deborah — a woman who listened to Him, spoke His words bravely, and led her people to freedom. This story imagines her calling beginning with a child under a palm tree who learned to listen, then follows Barak, the great battle, Jael, and Deborah's song of praise. In ten short chapters for children ages 6-12, young readers discover that courage starts with listening to God. Each chapter closes with a 'Do' or 'Pray' moment to share together.
