Vidar Half-Mitts are made using the two-color stranded knitting techniques and motifs found throughout Norway and traditionally used for mittens and gloves in Selbu, Norway. Vidar includes a men’s cuff, a star, a spider, spruce twigs, lightning and a spitball patterned palm. Many thanks to Anne Bårdsgård for her book, Selbu Mittens, published by Trafalgar Square Books of North Pomfret, Vermont. Pattern requires the following skills: working in the round in small circumferences, increasing and decreasing, stranded knitting in two colors.
