Anybody remember the song "The devil went down to Georgia"? I wanted to write a song that had that type of energy and feel to it. So I was just thinking about it and I remembered the story in the Bible when the devil went to tempt Jesus. I said to myself... "Self... that was Long before he went down to Georgia" Somebody needs to tell Charlie Daniels, before he went down to Georgia he went to try Jesus and "he TRIED TO MAKE A DEAL"
