COSSACKS vs. BLACKOUTS is a collection of 7 scenes of dark folk humor about Ukrainian resilience. A Cossack chases the little devil that holds the power switch, asks Death to please wait while his phone charges, smokes his pipe calmly between two safe walls, and sends an unwelcome parcel back to its sender. Each scene is painted in rich candlelight and night colors, with gentle irony instead of gloom.

THE SEVEN SCENES

• 1. Blackout Devil — a Cossack with a club chases a sooty little devil who hugs a wall switch and a fuse box, wearing a tag "SCHEDULE: 2 HOURS ON / 4 OFF". A cat with a headlamp watches from the stove.
• 2. Death Waits for 1% — the Grim Reaper waits politely in the doorway while the Cossack raises one finger: "one minute". His phone is at 1% on a power bank, and a sign says "PLEASE WAIT — CHARGING".
• 3. The Two-Walls Rule — a calm Cossack with a pipe, a cat on his lap and a dog at his feet sits between two walls, with a lantern, a thermos and a red "AIR RAID ALERT" on the phone. The sign reads "SAFE SPOT: 2 WALLS".
• 4. Return to Sender — under the Milky Way, the Cossack holds up a board "NO ENTRY — RETURN TO SENDER" while a worried little devil rides a missile with a "SPECIAL DELIVERY" parcel. (The vertical version has the sign in Ukrainian.)
• 5. Museum of Outages — in a glowing Kyiv of the future, a Cossack guide shows children and a robot dog the exhibit "THE GENERATOR, 2022–2026": a candle, a power bank and a schedule that ends with "BUT WE KEEP GOING".
• 6. War Council — a serious otaman points at a "map" that turns out to be an outage schedule, a clever fixer proudly shows a tiny generator and a bag of power banks, and the youngest Cossack pedals a bike to power one light bulb. The wall sign says "EPIC PLAN. Wi-Fi: 0 BARS."
• 7. Chess with the Devil — at sunset over a Ukrainian river, a Cossack in a tall sheepskin hat ponders a floating chessboard against a winged devil riding a missile.
