Construction

The Flannel Crush cowl is worked flat beginning at one corner, shaped with increases and decreases, and seamed after blocking. The cowl features an allover mosaic pattern, built-in I-Cord edges and an I-Cord bind off.

Needles

One 24” / 60 cm circular needle or longer, US 5 / 3.75 mm or size needed to get gauge

Yarn

Main Color

Farmer’s Daughter Fibers ‘Reminisce Sport’

100% Non-Superwash Montana and Wyoming Rambouillet

(185 yds / 169 m per 57 g)

Shown in colorway Shake-A-Day

1 skein

or 155 yds / 145 m of a similar sport weight yarn

Contrast Color

Sport weight handspun yarn, Fiber dyed by Hello Yarn

100% Corriedale Wool Top  (460 yds / 421 m per 114 g)

Shown in colorway I Had to Domesticate the Wild Beast

1 braid

(one 4 oz / 114 g braid, split in half, spun end-to-end and plied together, resulted in a 114 g skein with 460 yds / 421 m)

or 195 yds / 180 m of a similar sport weight yarn

To substitute the Contrast Color yarn used here, I recommend using a sport weight yarn with marling or color transitions to create an effect similar to handspun.
