This cozy polo/cowl is worked top-down in the round, using circular needles. The circumference is gradually increased by yarn-overs in a raglan shape. The front V is worked flat and the edging is finally added in the round. Beads can be added as an extra embellishment after blocking. They will also help keeping the polo in place.
You need around 125m/ 137 yards of DK or worsted yarn. Choose something soft, since the polo will fit snuggly around your neck. For color selection, I recommend using a one-color or only mildly variegated yarn, to make the fabric structure shine. I used Madelinetosh Tosh DK “Joshua Tree”.
Needles used are 3.5mm circular needles (preferably, but not necessarily, interchangeables) 40 / 60 / 80 cm // 16 / 24 / 32 inches, plus one 3mm needle of any length for binding off.
You need 9 markers and 3-4 beads (optional).
