The release of Nintendo’s Animal Crossings: New Horizons was a momentous occasion in my house, and it was perfectly timed in that it happened right as the world began to shut down due to a global pandemic. New Horizons offered a much-needed escape from a “real life” that was growing increasingly uncertain.

While there are many joys to be discovered throughout the game, I found instant #knitspiration in a pair of socks available at the start of the game: Cheerful yellow and orange, with the iconic Animal Crossing leaf motif repeated around the cuff. I knew I had to replicate the pattern, and so I’m very happy to share these New Horizons fingerless mitts.
